Hungary is currently the "bad child" of EU. They are trying to circumvent the EU regulations so they can keep saying no to new migrants from the MENA countries. EU is threatening with fines or expulsion. I feel like many politicians in other European countries are seeing that if they stay on this route, they will seize to exist as an independent country. These politicians are mostly in the opposition, but tides seem to be turning - at least I hope...

It's a ton of different countries all with varying laws on what pesticides, fertilizers, additives, colorants, etc are allowed in food.
