These are low-yield (<1 kiloton) nukes that leave almost no residual radiation after just a few hours. The primary emission is ionizing radiation, likely in the form of neutrons.
As long as you're shielded by concrete and don't go out for a few hours you should be good. These are not the dirty nukes of the 1960s. Of course they want it classified… Otherwise the world will know when "the Rubicon" has been crossed.
