Could it be an IFB?

In a professional or technical context: IFB can also stand for Interruptible Foldback (or Feedback), which is a system used in broadcasting, filmmaking, and video production for one-way communication from the director or assistant director to the on-air talent or remote crew. This system allows for cues and directions to be given in real-time, typically through an earpiece.
