The affected NC mountain areas got between 10 and 30 inches of rain. Add in the funneling effect of mountains and valleys - no need for a dam to burst.

I've been thinking a lot lately about how blessed my wife and I are. We live in central NC, and everything I have to complain about is petty when compared to what everyone in western NC is dealing with.
