Not just money, they often raid disaster areas for kids and people to traffic. If there are no witnesses, they can simply include those people in the "missing" count. People who have been through that kind of extreme disaster can end up in such a state of shock that whoever comes to help, they just follow without questioning. Especially if they just saw their family members swept away, along with their homes. There were articles about the Tsunami in Thailand, where a German wearing a suit, walked right into a hospital, claimed to be the uncle of a boy who had lost his parents. They let him take the boy away, and the real uncle came a few days later to find his nephew gone. It's really sad.
