Without any supporting evidence, he could be some guy LARPing in his basement.
Either get the local news to report and do the investigation, or show a single drop of proof yourself.

The worst affected areas are supposedly without power. No power means no wifi or cell service.
Good point, but you would think at some point it would get out, time will tell.
Who knows, the power there could also just deliberately be turned off to prevent information getting out. Tinfoil hatting but like you said, time will tell
