In the Name of Jesus Christ, this hurricane must not be allowed to hit Florida or anywhere else in the world. Jesus is the one we must call on to put an end to this storm. He did it for his disciples while they were fishing, and now he can do it for us.

Bless you for all that you’re doing . No stranger to hurricanes myself , but never lost a home. By the way, I happen to live in Mexico Beach for about 3 months now . Small world ! ( The house I’m in now was flooded in 4 feet of water after Michael and had to be completely renovated . As for NC, have you heard of FEMA turning people away ?
Small world indeed. My grandma used to own the (now) empty lot next to El Governor. I spent all my summers there until my early 20s.
Re NC, I've heard/seen rumors of FEMA turning people away. I've also received first hand accounts of Sheriffs throwing FEMA out of their towns/counties.
There is a lot of mis/disinformation coming out. I've received good first person accounts of FEMA interactions (morgue truck run by western PA volunteer firefighters). And I've seen ghost Black Hawks rotor washing donation drop zones.
Consume information carefully.
Sorry so late. Amazing - I live opposite El Governor hotel building off 19th street and Paradise Path. It’s so much quieter than what my kids and I are used to.. I balance myself between soaking up the wonderful solitude and raw beauty of this area , and also wishing for a few more neighbors ;-) About North Carolina, I did see a vid of that crazy chopper .. I’m now hearing that this was not from the storm , but from a dam was somehow flooded .. it makes sense, considering how fast it happened and how unprepared everyone was. If the dam was purposely targeted during the storm to take advantage .. it wouldn’t be hard to do. It almost reminds me of Maui- where a fire *actually * started because of some faulty power lines the night before . It definitely wasn’t enough to start what ended up happening there, but it was probably the excuse.
Wow, almost neighbors. Our lot was 16th St and 98, to the left of EG on the beach. Dunno if we will rebuild or sell lot. Such a nice little town. My grandma used to be the town secretary back in the day.
All the dams held in WNC. But some areas took 48” of rain in 36 hours. It was a total deluge. 90 min east, where I’m at we had 5” of rain in the same period.
Definitely not a normal event.
Before we moved , I was google earthing the area . You know how it takes street view snapshots .. I wanted to “ walk” through to the beach from the house . well there was just one that looked completely different . There were trees everywhere ! I couldn’t believe it was the same location . It’s really been wiped out . Thanks for sharing !
