I live in one of the last spots you can still see the Milky Way in my area. I haven't seen an actual meteor break up recently but there's been a ton of shooting stars, definitely way more than normal. We've also launched a ton of rockets into space the past few years so there has to be debris all over that is going to eventually reenter the atmosphere.
