Well I had urticaria for years. It could be caused by changing wash-powders (I reverted to using washing soda); clothing - I could not have rough wool right next to my skin or it would cause palm-sized welts; and any slight bump on furniture, or whatever, in day to day life, that would welt up and itch like mad. No crazy drugs needed. I tried giving up coffee to cure it first (in the early nineties) because every medical advice was so, just in case it was too much caffeine - no dice, LOL. I itched just as hard.
I finally cured it, after decades of trying every skin-cream under the sun, including weird anti candida ones, and then taking matters in my own hands and eliminating food groups. My theory was food-allergies - I arrived at relief by giving up all grain and vegetables (and started eating carnivore, with occasional fruit). Now, I can tolerate mushrooms (fungi) and SOME potato, or rice crackers once a week. Just saying.
But a wheaten cracker, or some surreptitious oats for thickening, will have me scratching open sore mozzy-bite sized welts, un-oh.
In Kamala's case, she has urticaria, and rhinitis, and conjunctivitis. As OP stated this means she is immuno-compromised, and prolly needs to figure out what substance is bothering her. In a wider interpretation, this could mean she is not suited to public life, given that one of the ways of dealing with such a combined condition (all three at once even) , can need one to isolate, even if it is to just heal/sleep/bathe/not-go-out, whatever. Furthermore, all the functions she must attend are riddled with allergens (freaky people, hidden agendas, power), which she hasn't managed to navigate successfully.
