Many years ago left-handed children would be derided as 'sinistrists' in school. The Latin for left is sinister.

Makes 2 of us...In first grade the NUNS wanted me "turned" and MY dad said NO WAY...He was left-handed and mother changed him...and he hated it to his dying day!!!
I remember when I was a kid asking my dad if I should be left or right handed, sitting at a small plastic table by the window.
I think I chose right-handed because he told me most people are right-handed.
