Here’s another narrative option for the outcome…

Trump wins 78% to 17% on the popular vote, but then downballots are 54/46 D. EVERYONE agrees it’s ridiculous, we audit the crap out of everything, and it turns out the whole election was 71% R across the board with Trump having an additional few% on a much more sensible gap.

We get audits, we get mandate, CRIME GETS MOPPED.
