Bearing in mind that in addition to being pork barrel programs to ensure a voting bloc........
In many places government jobs are the employment of last resort of economies burned over by banksters and vampire squid "private sector" players (most of whom couldn't exist without the welfare THEY get, like "food programs" that deliver trillions to Big Ag for goyslop that makes people unhealthy, but they then go to Pharma).
