Genuine question from someone just beginning to pull at the Israel/Palestine wire tangle.
Do you think Hezbollah & Hamas are genuinely antagonistic entities to Israel's interests? They never make any meaningful gains or put up effective defense. Their activity is uniformly cited by the press to justify military action on Israel's part. Their existence is justification for a permanent flow of arms & intelligence to Israel, to a degree that our representatives have dual citizenship and are far more consistent and ardent in serving Israel than the US.
In what ways are Hezbollah & Hamas problematic for Israel?
Could this actually be an unwinding of Israeli proxy groups, being sold to the public as an Israeli military victory?
I am finding lots of operations related to tunnels, or that had incidental tunnel activity, but nothing specific to them being expanded. Is that a theory or is it something publicly acknowledged?
Also see the Qasem Soleimani connection. I guess a sort of tunnel godfather.
Of course they are. How else would controlled opposition convince the world of how evil they were so the real perpetrators could be funded to the tune of trillions.
Start with the historical Nizari Ismaili order of assassins. Go from there up until today many groups like this one being the very regime that runs Iran.
It's interesting history but I think I'm losing track of your point as it relates to current day Israel. Is your assertion that a nation of assassins is too ruthless to have sovereignty?
Haha your confused that's the buffer army to combat them that we installed after we conquered the Levant throughout the world wars. Sure they have factions which are our adversaries.
Watch interviews from veterans in the iraq war they all say the iraqis weren't the biggest adversary, it was the Iranian shia groups in southern Iraq and iran sending in jihadis that where the real threat. Your very right though groups like that assassins still exist today. They are the most warlike and heinous of adversaries as they have no battlefield morals. If you research enough you'll see they are the head of the snake that started the suicide bomber trend.

why did Israel spend so much money in the 00s expanding the hamas tunnels?
that will send you in the right direction
Would that be Operation Rainbow?

I note that there was another operation with the same name in Syria that seems to have taken naming precedence.

don't forget about the tunnels in NYC and the stained mattresses now that we're on the tunnel topic.
interesting connection to Syria, makes sense but I didn't know that.
yes there are even msm reports about Israel using American tax money to expand the Gaza tunnels. bonkers
Do you have links to tunnel expansion info? I didn't turn up anything.
I dont think many people on here are aware of how ruthless militant shia groups are and what has been done to combat them in the past.
Of course they are. How else would controlled opposition convince the world of how evil they were so the real perpetrators could be funded to the tune of trillions.

Of course, theyโre not to be confused with the: Irgun, Haganah and Lehi
Since then, think they modernised, reorganised and rebranded and even have a website or two here:
Israel Defence Force
