I am a programmer - that was in fact a real problem but the scope was whacky.
The problem stemmed from critical machines running on minimal hardware, where every bit counted (they were only storing the last two digits of a year, instead of 4 digits, to save space).
Your home PC was fine.
The thing with tech is that - if everything is running well, you won't hear anything from users. That's how I know if I've done the job properly.
My dad was working for one of the largest companies in Canada and they worked 5 years ahead to solve the "Y2K" issue, so that nothing failed.
I agree, it was a real issue under certain conditions.
But the media spun it as (and people believed it was going to be) "your coffee maker will suddenly think it's 1900 and stop working because coffee makers weren't invented in 1900".
Perhaps, leaving aside the real problems, the media and the spin on Y2K was an early test run of how much the media could make the general public panic.
Can a software program be programmed to ignore anything trying to be added to it? I have a limited idea of how it works! Why don't software include programming used in Bitcoin? Just asking!
Being a single white male with no dependents, I love paying more taxes and seeing all of it go to my lazy out of work bum relatives with no jobs and 15 kids by 16 fathers.
Y2K...😳
That was a lot of fun for me....

Hello--we may be related (usernames!)

Keep telling the truth OP

They are certainly not Nostradamus.
