I am distancing myself emotionally and to some extent intellectually from the upcoming events.

202 was enough to show me that projecting my preconceived expectations on future events isn't helpful.

I pray each day for America to hear God's voice, but a few weeks back I had an epiphany:

As I was thinking about the upcoming election, and all the stress and intensity I experienced in 2020, I realized that the one who is most concerned about the 2024 election is the Heavenly Father.

A lot of people think that God is impervious to certain types of feelings, and that God knows everything that will happen - past, present and future.

But I think that God being omniscient doesn't mean that he knows what WILL happen, but only what CAN happen. God knows and sees all possible timelines, but because he has given freedom and responsibility to his children, he has empowered us to ALSO affect how things unfold. He deliberately does not make certain choices, but has empowered us to play a role in deciding how the future unfolds.

From that viewpoint, God has more invested than anyone, and has put more effort, sweat tears and blood into guiding, urging, lifting people to do his will. Because his will is for OUR benefit.

Realizing this, I decided that my focus will not be on what happens on Nov 5+, but only telling my Father that I love him, that I support him, and I pray that America will listen to and respond to him.

This changes the whole focus. It's no longer about me, my hopes and fears, concerns and wishes. It's about his.

God has taken care of us since forever. It's about time we learned to take care of Him.

Do you think God would be offended? Or laugh? Or be dismissive of that approach? Any parent knows that when his or her child tries their best to take care of mummy and daddy, even if its a silly drawing, the heart of the parent is touched and comforted. To me, this is the foundation of how to approach being a true son to God. And that's my approach now.
