It was indeed! But only for a second or two, just the initial shock from the loud crash.
A bit more details to refine the image. My cabin is only one room, 14x14. So the TV (smaller old school tube TV/VCR combo), a stereo and radio transmissible receiver, two 20in speakers, a row of books, and a stack of magazines all were somehow pulled or pushed from their solid wooden shelf that is custom measured and built to hold all of the AV equipment tucked up against the ceiling. The shelf even has trim raised along the facing where the radio unit and books are to literally keep them from any type of accidental fall.
It all came crashing down hitting the floor at 230AM local time. I was asleep on the futon less than a meter from the impact point! I suppose my first reaction might have been someone was breaking in. But, i woke up with an instinctual yell, not in terror though, just reactionary and a split second after I snapped awake I realize it is absolutely pitch black. No light at.
That's when I immediately began praying while reaching back around to feel for the lamp switch on the wall. When I turned the light on, everything was as I had left it when retiring for the night with the exception of the inexplicably disheveled AV array.
While I was picking everything up, I inspected everything of course. No structural failure, the cat was outside, door locked, no tremors (which are very rare in this area). The only explanation was supernatural. Stranger none of the equipment was damaged in any way. Were talking at least 100 lbs of heavy late 90s AV equipment free dropping from 10 ft!
I prayed again after cleaning lightly and went right back to sleep! Woke up as usual a few hrs later just after dawn and went on about my day of work and play on the farm. The following night me and the cat locked ourselves up after dinner, prayed, and made sure our hand cannon was easily within reach... not that would matter much given the nature of the previous night's haunting for lack of a better word.
Crazy stuff, but not the craziest I've encountered. Lol, this happened just a few weeks ago!
You have quite a story to tell fren and although left with a mess to clean up I am glad to hear you and your property didn't sustain any damages. Thank you for painting a more complete picture for us and I enjoyed reading your account. The timing of your experience coupled with this post regarding Tucker and the stories shared here by others has given me alot to think about. I appreciate you and hope you have a great weekend ahead.
