I disagree that anons need apologies for being challenged. We're not little leftist snowflakes who need a safe space here like when dissenting opinions cause leftists to curl up in fetal position. People need to develop thicker skins as the nasty people out there on the side of darkness are not going to mollycoddle people of the light. This is warfare - spiritual warfare for anons (yet kinetic for those on the front lines). A few years back I posited that DJT would be arrested and got reamed for doing so by other anons, but it was clear to me that would be the case. Most of us, I would presume, have battled for our "unconventional" ideas since youth and certainly our more recent experiences with family and friends who accepted the experimental drugs during the scamdemic is a glaring example of this.
The fact is that none of us have all the answers and we're continually exploring theories. It's also true that we have some perpetual hand-wringers in our midst who, despite all the positive gains over the past several years, seem only to be able to adopt/embrace a glass-half empty attitude. We also have covert shills who are likely paid to try and demoralize anons. Take a look at the recent logs if you want to see how much of that crap the mods have had to clobber these past couple weeks as the dark side has stepped up their efforts in this area.
A skill some of our worrywart anons need to develop better is rising up to the 40K heights to look at a broader view - domestically, globally and historically - of how the battlefield has been progressing. People I've known personally have gone through far worse trials in their lives than what most (though not all) have had to endure during this latest round of GvE. Also, pulling closer to God wouldn't hurt the doomers any. "Fear not".
Being realistic, as you say, does not preclude differences of opinions, but one gets to choose their own perspective where it comes to hope vs despair. I know we're all tired even here in our armchair/spectator positions (vis-a-vis those on the front lines) as battles rage across the country and the world, but being able to step back emotionally is an asset as we try to understand what's going on. The exercise this go-around isn't to just beat back the evil as has been done repeatedly throughout history, but to eradicate these beasts (to the extent they can be identified) so that they can't rear their heinous heads again for a thousand years.
