I would agree that there are still some red hot spots in Gwinnett. Just not nearly like it used to be....and please forgive me for referring to Gwinnett as a shithole. That was harsh as there are still nice places in the county.
The bottom line is that there are still some nice places in the county...it is way too overbuilt, tho, and the crime has certainly escalated...but there are still some very nice places, although I can say I am NOT fond of the change and especially all the illegals. This WAS a great place to raise kids...I was looking to buy a house in N. Georgia Mountains when covid hit...so my dream is delayed; we have hunting land in Tarversville, east of Macon... so all is not lost, but my dream is also to move. I am certainly glad you got out when you did and were able to do that...we do have many, many happy memories raising our family here...
I live in the foothills of the mountains north of Atlanta. Still red area but growing very quickly. Worried that many coming north are going to change our beautiful area and turn it liberal.
The N. Georgia Mountains are so beautiful...I believe when you have communities that are desirable, they grow too quickly...attracting people who want the higher standard of living or the good school system...although the fast growth becomes uncontrollable and tends to change the growth from a positive to a negative. I hope you are able to preserve the community you love, slowing down the growth...liberals certainly destroy everything they come in contact with...Georgia has SO SO many beautiful areas but it is changing.
