I agree with this assessment, and would posit that if it's software of any kind developed here in the U.S., a backdoor is given to the alphabet before it's allowed to go to the public. NSA has claimed this is how [they] "protect" us against cyber-harm.
Any prediction market that is controlled and not real will eventually have results that do not match reality which will be noticed and it will get a bad reputation and get ignored. So trying to do anything like that is useless and not a problem.
