She doesn't get it. Australia, Canada and other "Commonwealth realms" are owned by the Royal family.

Their governments are all potemkins and have been since inception. Aus is larping as a real sovereign country, as is Canada. Recall what Trudeau said about his Queen.

It is now possible for Elizabeth II to be, in practice as well as theory, equally Queen in all her realms."

It's like you're a dog walker. You're the boss of the dogs, but you have those leashes that expand and contract (retractable). That way the dogs think they have some autonomy. But they don't. YOu're still the plenipotentiary. And if a dog starts straying too far you can hit that button to freeze their line.
