That's not true. Our family didn't comply. However, when my husband's grandmother went into the hospital, for the final time, no one was allowed to see her. Not her husband of 72 years, her children, grandchildren. No one. She died alone in a cold, sterile hospital room. So it did happen to those who didn't comply.
Yeah I hate voting blindly along party lines, but it's hard to imagine ever filling in a bubble with (Dem) next to it ever again after living through 2020-2021 in a blue state. Got a nice mix of (Rep) (Lib) (Ind) on my ballot this year.
I was a Dem since the 80 until the first term of Obummer. Even as I drove out of WA on my Exodus, the Democratic party of my area texted me to see if I would like to run for a position. They even promised to help teach, train, assist...etc.

The turning point for me was the primaries for 2016, when every candidate in the first debate except Jim Webb seemed to be running solely on how oppressive their gun control platform would be. And then Jim Webb dropped out. At that point I realized I was probably more libertarian than liberal, and definitely not a modern Democrat.
My hate for these vermin started wayyyy before Covid Liz, but I’ll keep all those in mind too. 😬

People who didn't comply were fired and faced financial ruin, loss of their homes, etc. There was a price paid
