I didn't even have to wait in line at our local early voting site last week. Some of the local candidates were outside, and everyone seemed happy. Even the black worker inside was happy to get my driver license and record the number on the form before sending me on to get a ballot. We have paper ballots. The only machine is the scanning and counting machine at the exit door. I think close to 3,000 votes had been cast already, which about a tenth of the registered voters in my county.
