My thinking is it could easily be my child or a friends child that gets kidnapped and used in the worst way. That’s my reason for thinking about it and wanting an end to it

This was my thinking too. She adores children. I can't understand why the topic does not interest her, other than she's dismissing it all as conspiracy theorist fantasy.
