He's pro Trump and active duty in the miltary, a Calvary Scout. I was told he was getting deployed soon with his unit to the eastern flank, specifically Poland with the victory corps but as a deterrent than any actual direct combat.

Is something going to happen in Europe soon, presumably a scare event?

Nah this is a standard deployment more than likely planned for awhile. Just my guess as a former cav scout

Our guys have been in Poland for some time now. My co-worker’s family member was sent there about 6 months ago.
