Agreed. He or whoever is playing his likeness now is quite good (I noticed some weird stuff in Top Gun: Maverick that looked like it was someone wearing a Tom Cruise mask or AI edited). Checkout "Skydance Productions" associated with both Tom Cruise and Larry Ellison that has been involved in lots of movies with "soft disclosure" in them, including TG:M. I really, really underappreciated this movie. You find more nuggets on each re-watch.
it seems like a violent version of groundhog day. also, Bill Paxton was great in this...
