I think it was good! Great story. If this had been a story about living people, then of course, if you could get a little comment or interview with them, that would take it up a notch. Or at least, pictures. I think that would help make it more 'real,' to viewers. In this case, Chelsea is gone, but if Coleen were still alive, if she could give a little comment, that would be cool. Or if Coleen had some old video of Chelsea, that would be good. I know it might not always be possible to get the people on video, this is just an idea for those times when it could be possible. Otherwise, very nice. All the best for this exciting new project, fren.
Thank you. I know what you mean about pictures, on the other 3 or 4 videos I've done I've used pictures on some, trying different ideas, for example: on the "God is the best driving instructor" one, I used all pictures, no background video. I may end up doing what you say.... it's just that my thoughts so far have also been that some people like to listen without watching... lol... I just realized, "pictures for those watching" and pictures for listeners.... I should be covering both by just using pictures! I'm such a twit sometimes... lol Thank you for your imput!
Sure, fren. I just watched the driving instructor video (Congrats on gaining so many subscribers so quickly, btw!! that's awesome.)
That one had a lot of visual activity. And that is nice for viewers. Personally, I don't like a lot of fast changes, visually. Like, there are so many scene cuts you barely even register what you're looking at. But some changes can be nice. That is what stood out to me about that driving video compared to the one about Chelsea. The Chelsea video was pleasant and serene (which I personally like) but the visual aspect was basically static. For some people, that might come across as boring, or they might start to lose concentration and their thoughts might wander. Changing things up might unconsciously keep people's attention more by keeping them on their toes, so to speak. I don't know, lol. I'm just spitballing here because this is not my area of expertise, so take this for what it's worth.
But I like the concept of your channel and think you're already doing very well getting subscribers. So best of luck with it and keep up the good work! (Oh, and the number of views you are getting on each video should tell you something, right? Once you start to see any patterns, you can make changes if necessary.) It appears to me that people are liking what you're doing as things stand. All the best!
Thank you very much! I agree with you on visual activity exactly. What I've tried with a couple is very little visual changes to see if most people, or some, ( I don't know lol) are listeners or viewers. And then I realized either way, visuals are probably good. I also like scripture, makes you pay attention and ... I can't tell you how many times I've read a verse and immediately understood or began to understand something I was struggling with. Channel wise... I know that 5 minute videos, that on average will only get 1/3 watched, aren't going to make money and that's fine, I just enjoy making them and passing along the stories.
Oh, that's interesting. How long do the videos have to be for you to make money? Or how long does someone have to watch? If I know, I'll try to at least get their with my fave channels.
Well, to even be able to make money you have to first accrue 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours watched. So, if you make 5 minute videos and you have to have 4,000 x 60 = 24,000 minutes viewed...lol That's 4,800 views and they had to watch the whole video! Not really all that feasible for short videos unless you tap into something phenomenal and have millions of views! So, I mean if it happened, I'll take it but to make money you really need to make 1/2 hour or longer videos. Then you can make theoretically a lot of coin.
I see. Thanks. I didn't know that. I've seen youtube pushing Shorts. Maybe that's because they don't have to pay for them? Cheapskates. I'm sorry to hear that, but maybe you'll grow enough and get enough interest to be able to monetize. I hope so. But even if you don't get there, it's good you're spreading the good news about God. Thanks for that, fren.
