Some people don't seem to understand that love can't be earned. It is a gift from God, who is love. Respect can be earned, trust can be earned; love is a gift.
For me personally, it took me being an absolute piece of shit, feeling like I didn't deserve to be loved at all, and yet being loved anyways, that caused me to begin to understand what love really is.
The story of the prodigal son explains it perfectly. The father loves the son who went astray just as much as the son who didn't. The son who didn't is jealous of the son who went astray, because he thought he had earned his father's love and that the brother who went astray hadn't.
"And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine." Luke 15:31
A good parent loves their child unconditionally. I can't imagine any parent liking or being okay with this, no matter the reason.
100%.
The shit I have seen my parents tolerate with less than desirable offspring is mind blowing.
But, in the end, some do get normal and for most part, because of that love from the parents.

Well said!
Agreed. I’m Sure his family will be right there waiting for him when and if he decides to get his head on straight
