Over the weekend President-elect Donald Trump announced a push for national concealed carry reciprocity, a move which would make the concealed permit of any one state valid in the other 49.
On Sunday, Don Trump Jr. posted to Instagram, “Boom! My father just announced concealed carry reciprocity. The Second Amendment will stay and remain protected.”
My wife and I are avid rv'ers, and it has always been a concern that if we travel through State X (example:NJ), and they stop us we literally could go to jail for exercising our 2nd Amendment rights to have weapons with us. Not only is this unconstitutional, but smacks of Gestapo tactics. I say bravo for Trump making this happen. There is really only one reason to restrict citizens from having weapons, and that is to protect the "Government". I also believe if a weapon is in use by the Goverment, it should equally be avaiable without penalty to the citizen.
It is called Constitutional carry, The 2nd Amendment is valid in every state and ANY state 'law' that that pretends to override the Constitution is VOID.
I already conceal wherever I go, would be nice it was legal everywhere!
Make it happin’ captain!! 🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸👏🇺🇸
I would rather have no permit required to conceal carry. I lost my permit during Covid lockdowns, my renewal came when the offices were closed. Didn’t get a notice either for the same reasons.
Agree, 2nd amendment should protect our constitutional rights to carry.
yes!!
2A is merely one of our ENUMERATED unalienable, God-given rights. It is up to an awake, well-educated, aware, and finally pissed-off people to demand that our SERVANTS finally do their jobs....or be recalled or worse.
The constitution is our nation wide CCP... Trump needs to come out and affirm that.
How would this work for TX residents? I can carry here without a permit, does this mean I can do the same in CA or do I need to get a TX permit?
I believe the way it would work is for your home state permit to be valid in all states. That’s the way it currently works with states having reciprocity.
A few states have no permits required…WY, AZ I believe.
Louisiana and Mississippi are also constitutional carry - no permit required.
No, more than half the country, about 27 states are constitutional carry and do not require a permit. All everyone will need to do is get a non-resident UT carry permit and they are good to go.
Ah right. Many addl states added constitutional carry laws relatively recently. Forgot about that!
Get a non-resident UT permit.
The Constitution is our cc or otherwise "permit." That this is/has been twisted beyond recognition is criminal in itself.
