Not only online but even in my own friend circle. Example- one friend works as an engineer for a company that designs furnature and said that if the tariffs go on they'll have to close their business or lay people off to a graveyard shift, because they import all their wood and their margins aren't that great to begin with.
Trump will have to maneuver this well to bring our production back home without doing too much short-term damage, maybe give businesses an immediate financial incentive to begin buying local product and have some kind of safety net to prevent small businesses from going under. What are your thoughts frens
edit- oh and of course, the raging left is using this as a battering ram to harm support for Trump before he even takes office. It's a literal constant refrain right now on the lefty channels, along with deportations

Like Elon said the proper way to implement tariffs is in phases to ensure that foreign-sourced, obscure parts in larger systems don't immediately render those systems unprofitable. Businesses that rely solely on foreign sourcing may not be sustainable, and there will likely be some market correction. But the success of those businesses was based on a faulty economy all along, in which the US pays tariffs but other countries don't.
