The same could be said of quite a few people that various factions of “The Right” as it were. Champion and idolizes.

Ross Ulbricht as an example. That some Libertarians seemingly adore. Was linked to several Murder-for-hire deals during the course of his trial and sentencing. Though to be fair to them he was never formally charged for them.
