Everyone has their own beliefs about extraterrestrial life. Theories and beliefs on this subject are more contentious than Various factions of Christians fighting over pre-trib vs post-tribulation rapture doctrines.
I am surveying not beliefs but actual experiences amongst our ranks. If you have had one or more eyewitness firsthand accounts of UFO's or ET's, please list your experiences here.
Re: rapture, my understanding is that it was invented recently by Schofield, after a dozen centuries of consensus that Revelation depicted the fall of Rome. I think our wickedness currently is Sodom and Gomorrah levels and we will suffer for having allowed it to get this far, not be instantly beamed out of the miasma. Repentance and prayer is on each of us
I've seen all kinds of whacky sky stuff over my years, some of which I thought was military tech at the time. I've also heard all kinds of stories in my family of wild stuff, enough to accept there's another set of bad guys out there, taking people and trying to work out reproduction and how to manipulate humans, such as adrenochrome from blood of mammals (thinking of the weird carcasses left behind). They can't be normal beings because they'd already be able to reproduce, and I think that the only things that would be obsessed with all that would be the Fallen.
Just my take.
Actually, it was a doctrine created by John Nelson Darby, while in convalescence from a horse-riding accident (according to history).
There is some speculation that John Nelson Darby was a Jesuit infiltrator into Protestant Christianity. Who had every intention of creating a division amongst the various denominations. To this day the Baptist dispensation of the ages, and rapture doctrines versus other denominational beliefs is contentious to say the least.
The Jesuits did this by design, like spies, they infiltrated various Christian denominations and spread doctrines that would keep the Protestant Church divided against itself, forming multiple fractured factions. Thus, keeping Catholicism as the dominant Christian faith. It was the Catholic Churches successful attempt to maintain political power over a united Christian church. Divide and conquer.
Christ weeps at what has become of his church. In all of its flavors.
