I heard this theory on the radio this morning...might be Michael DelGiorno...not sure. Anyway, the theory is that Gaetz is the AG pick, but it is very possible a no go. However, he is distracting the lefties. The possible outcome if he fails to be confirmed? Governor DeSantis chooses him to replace Marco Rubio. Wouldn't that be a kick in the sack?

But I thought I heard today that Florida law says they have to have a special election.

There has to be a special election to replace a vacancy in the House. But a vacancy in the Senate the governor gets to pick a new Senator right away.

So if Rubio takes the SoS office, Gaetz can be instantly promoted to Senator to take Rubio's seat.
