Maybe im misunderstanding, but it would mean the opposite right? We would need all 100 senators to not declare senate in session for 10 days for Senate to be in recess, meaning after 10 days of no senate sessions then Trump could do a recess appointment?

I think it means

10 consecutive days,

not a clock that is turned on and off, as senators check in for ten minutes.
