I've had several surgeries since covid. Each time, I was asked if I had been vaccinated. I was truthful and told them no, that I was not vaxxed, but that I had had covid so I had natural immunity. They had nothing to say to that. I don't think they snuck in a shot while I was under for a couple of reasons. One, there were other people present at the surgery that would be a witness to it, and two, like you said, there would have been a mark or soreness at the injection site and possibly other side effects.
I have had surgeries since covid.
If anybody would have vaxxed me there would be tellltale signs.
Usually you would be ill afterwards as all the people I know that got it were sick directly after receiving it.
You would definitely have a mark somewhere on you that would be sore and noticeable.
I'm not so sure the truth behind this.

They never asked if I was vaxxed.
My doctor is based.
This same doctor's office stopped mask wearing way before the building they were in allowed them.
You are very fortunate to have a doctor like that.
I sure am. He did my knee replacement and he is one if the best.
Even my PCP didn't pressure me. She says I know no vaxxes and cholesterol medicine.
