Two family members in two different states that shop at Costco every week or two both noticed that their respective stores are suddenly super busy with tons of cars in the parking lot in the last few weeks. Whereas for the last couple of years, it has been normal-to-quiet when they shopped there.
I interpret that to a feeling of hope, a feeling of impending prosperity, the feeling that 'Oh, now I can buy that thing I was holding out for, because things are going to get better soon..."

everyone was saving money up to spend! its going to feel pretty good for a while.
