Guy was reportedly a reclusive hermit in an aging mansion. Seen so rarely by his neighbors. That some of them had thought the Mansion was abandoned and didn’t realize anyone lived there. Or believed he had moved out years ago.

Supposing that were true. Wouldn’t seem to be the type to go to the trouble of faking his death. Seems more like a Blacksheep of the family that the rest of the family wanted to pretend didn’t exist. Maybe one of the other family members considered him a loose end they iced out?

The ramblings of the Mentally Ill can sometimes reveal secrets others would prefer stay buried.
