I thought that the Apostle Simon Peter was crucified upside down outside of Rome in the 7th decade AD. The Vatican claims that he is interred there.

You're absolutely right. The OP's post is talking about some shia shrine with zero relevance to Christians, which is why you've never heard of it.

It's also the wrong Simon... it's Simon the zealot, not Simon Peter...
