I got so used to carrying my Browning Hi-Power 9mm that once I almost went through airport security getting to a plane...realized it at the last minute, did a 180, went back to my car (it was a small regional airport, so it wasn't that much of an inconvenience), placed the pistol under the driver's seat, and then returned to the airport. Close call!
I rarely go but it's just easier to have a separate bag for ammo, mags, eye protection, hearing protection, first aid kits, cleaning kits, etc.(I'm an old lady so safety first! Lol) Plus the dummy is in gun hating DC, working in a Congress building Just weird! Unless Congress has a "Bring your ammo to work day" or he couldn't find a responsible sitter in DC (his mags might get sniffed or otherwise molested)
Not much ammo, looks like an honest mistake.
I'm just surprised they arrested him.

It's very common. I've done similar things.
Do you carry magazines and ammo in your work bag? I have a separate range bag for that. Just weird to have it in a work bag.
I do have a separate range bag,but a lot of people don't go shooting that much.
