I wish I knew fren. IMO it was absolutely shut down from on high. Whether that be a controlled exit allowed to happen for a reason or a black hat shut down "pull the rug out" scenario I do not know. u/Puttitout was rather quiet about the whole thing. I do believe ultimately he said the certificates simply expired and there was no funding to continue but I recall many anons offering to support the cause.
Very interesting sequence of habbenings.
Q tells anons to migrate to Voat.
Voat shuts down on Christmas Day.
Win website shows up out of nowhere.
Somehow both the Q boards and TD create win boards seemingly at random.
To this day, anons do not know who funds nor owns this site outside of the initial discovery of some of the original hosting being redirect DoD addresses.
I vaguely recall the week of the voat shutdown this place being mentioned in the megathread for alternative hangouts. This place beat the heck out of Poal as far as UI and mobile UI.
Anyhoot, here we all are. Nothing habbens for no reason, however big or small the cause or effect.
Forgot to ask but since you know so much of what's happened in the background, what really happened with VOAT?
