Trump said it as a joke, as to how much help and money they need/take from U.S.
It's been said for decades, they allowed the US to become too big, making it difficult to put in social policy, of any good. Other countries are the size of our states!
Think about it. Alaska? Cool they have oil, but they are next to Russia! Puerto Rico is another losing problem. Trump said he would 'sell it' because we spend way too much money with the most corruption involved. Every time we help them.
Citizens there said..."Trump can't sell our territory, the US has already spent way to much money to do that, they will lose every invested dime." Okay.
Trump replied, I'll sell it tomorrow! Because the minute I do, we begin SAVING MONEY BIG TIME! The pipeline stops! That begins our savings. Every time we have a problem, the country is too big they said. For heath policy, we needed to do it in the 50's. The other programs they ignore because they are selfish and need the money for other BIG things, it's all just too big. Where is all the tax money? It's all too big to see and audit frequently. I'm not for buying commie Canada.
