Or will he have his hands tied trying to put out spot fires again across the ME. I would say with the way the nominations are progressing, and with a core group of GOP Senators riding interference, he is going to be very busy and this is why he needs to get those across the line urgently of those that love America and not be involved in these conflicts that distract from the righting of the ship that is America. If he gets bogged down, all his election promises will be naught. The CIA need to be defunded now. Revolutions have started in the last several weeks in Romania and Georgia- all backed by CIA. And now Syria.

The situation in Syria is very interesting.
Currently the Assad forces are crumbling and the terrorists are advancing at a blitzkrieg pace.
Taking one step back though we can see that this has been orchestrated from Turkey with the help of NATO/Israel.
Syria's main allies are Russia and Iran.
Russia is tied up in Ukraine and wasn't even focusing on Syria.
Iran was fighting in Syria through Hezbollah which got decimated by Israel in their war against Hamas.
So naturally, Turkey used these factors to break the ceasefire and advance on the Syrian positions. To make matters even worse, Assad had to demobilize his army to save the last remnants of his economy. Hence most of the front line troops are poorly trained conscripts with very low morale.
In my book, Assad needs to survive in office till Trump takes charge. Pretty sure, Trump will preferred working with Assad as opposed to the deep state controlled "opposition".
At this point Assad will take any deal that would end the rebel problem once and for all. Pretty sure he would even accept breaking ties with Iran in exchange for territorial integrity guaranteed by the US.
