I have to disagree with this meme:

The pardon is most appropriate for the wrongly charged innocent.

It is an abuse to apply the pardon to the truly guilty, in the absence of reasonable circumstances. Being son of the President, not being one . . .

I presume you would include someone who breaks an unjust law as one who has been wrongly charged? Some would classify the wrongly charged innocent as those who receive amnesty, not pardon.

Ford may have done this for Nixon... ( If anyone here has sauce for or against this, I'm interested)
