Can someone pease explain to me what’s going on in Syria. Not sure if Assad is good or bad. Is this another color revolution from the good old USA?

Recycled Jihadis beholden to NATO and Israel have completed the take over of Syria that wasn't possible when Obama was in office and Russia stepped in. Now Russia a little to busy in Ukraine. Stirring the CIA shit pot to hand off to Trump. Israel gets their "Greater Israel" land grab. Assad is a bad dude, connected to Iran and the Saudi shithead bin Talal. But he kept more brutal dudes in check and was somewhat predictable. At the end of the day this looks like a mixed bag of blessings and curses. Syria will likely remain a hotbed of Al Qaeda (Al see I aye-duh) derived organizations (and trafficking again) for a bit longer. Deep State and Iran still in control over there but the middle management is changing. At least, this is my take. I would love to read what others think.
