Additional info regarding swearing in early. I’m pretty sure Schiff was elected not only for the new senate term, but also to complete the term of someone who left this year. So swearing in early would be for this term. I’m from California, and I remember voting for senate twice. So sorry our Republican guy lost to pencil neck through rampant voter fraud.
