Maybe I didn't hear it right, but he clearly was responding to someone -- either a sign someone was holding, something someone was wearing, or what someone said. He didn't like whatever it was.

Here, he was agitated and yelled out in response.
If (a) he is not killed, and (b) he can avoid being drugged into oblivion, this could get even more interesting than it already is.
