I was just thinking now I have to buy everything from Misfit Markets.
I was thinking the local whole foods- not the chain but a local one!
Wish we could still grow it.
I’m looking into growing it next year! Found this— Believe it or not, the U.S. is the largest importer of garlic in the world, with the majority of the garlic we consume coming from China, Mexico, and Argentina. According to the University of California, China produces a stunning 75% of the world's garlic supply, and is also the source of 75% of U.S. imported garlic.

Growing it is easy. We grow about 30 bulbs a year. Take the largest clove of each bulb in the fall when you are done harvesting your veg. garden. Plant them point side up 1-2 inches deep and 4" apart. The clove will start to get it's roots established and then it will go dormant in the winter. They are the first sprout you see in the spring. It's actually a great first sign of spring. Let them grow until the garlic scape and flower are wilted or dead. We harvest when the farmers harvest their winter wheat. Tie 4-5 of them together by the stalk and hang up in a tree or bush outside to dry them for 4-5 days. Bring them in your house cut the stem to within 2" of the bulb. Store the bulbs in a paper sack in a dark cool basement, crawl space or shed. Enjoy them all winter..
