I was stationed at Naval Air Station Jacksonville for over six years in VP-49 when the VP community used the P3 Orion for Antisubmarine warfare. I was a flight engineer on the P3 for over 20 years and logged over 10K flight hours. The P3 first came into the Navy aircraft inventory in 1962. Over the past couple of decades all of the P3 squadrons have been slowly replaced with the P8. There are probably over a hundred P8 airplanes at NAS Jacksonville. P8 aircraft make takeoffs and landings there almost every day of the year. These are routine P8 flights at NAS JAX.
Whidbey Island actually just north of Seattle. I was stationed there too.
I was in VP-46 and VQ-1. I had the pleasure of driving across Deception Pass on my way to and from work every day. I loved that place.

Very routine. All day every day. They fly out of Seattle too.
