Every once in a while you get cracks in the facade that remind us. There are significant sections in the Geneva Convention that were put there explicitly because of the Canadians.

Summary knifing and clubbing of all POW's, brutal hand to hand combat, trench raids with spiked clubs. They prettymuch went berserk and that kinda started the anti war-crimes laws.
