I’m staggered that both
Nancy Mace (R-SC)
Thomas Massie (R-KY).
Voted with the Democrats.
I think you misread the article. Both reps you mentioned voted against the bill.
Well, they may only want a balanced budget. Anything less may not be good enough, and they want the gov't shut down until we stop spending so much.
Doesn't mean they are with the Dems, just that they oppose for different reasons. I'm surprised Rand Paul didn't oppose as well.
'On Friday, the House of Representatives passed a government funding bill, narrowly averting a shutdown just before the midnight deadline. The bill, which received unanimous support from Democratic lawmakers, faced opposition from 38 Republican members who voted against it.
The approved legislation provides temporary funding to keep federal operations running until March 14, 2025, and includes $100 billion for disaster relief and $10 billion for agricultural assistance. However, it excludes Trump’s demand to raise the debt ceiling.'
In other words, other than the debt ceiling, it is virtually identical to the bill Trump and Elon Musk endorsed.
Maybe we could've improved it more, but without Trump and Elon Musk's support, any attempt to improve the bill right now would be doomed to fail.
Every list of the "34 RINOs" that I have seen has some variations in the names that are included. Two others show Nathaniel Moran (TX) on their list, but he's not listed here. Lauren Boebert's name wasn't listed, but she's listed on this one. One other list had 38 names listed. Hard to trust the accuracy in any of these reports.
