Someone posted a picture of a receipt on here a few days ago, migrant had like 8000 dollar food stamp balance and 13000 in cash balance left on their welfare card. Something like that.
That just blows my mind. We raised twelve kids on one salary and we never had money like that for anything. Money just trickled in from all sorts of little jobs we would do, and we literally went to the grocery store (just around the corner) every day. I didn't even know what a Costco was til my kids just told me, lol.
